Pumpkins not spooked by Halloween deadline
This year’s Halloween pumpkins are in supermarkets, in readiness for the 31st of October.
The year has had its challenges, as growers faced workforce shortages and the need to grow a big crop with Halloween falling on a Saturday.
One of the country’s major producers Stackelroth Farms has answered the calls, growing about 100,000 pumpkins.
