REIV blasts State government’s target of the property industry
The Real Estate Institute of Victoria is reeling from another property tax.
The Victorian Government intends to introduce a tax on some properties that are vacant for more than a total of six months in a calendar year.
Richard Simpson, president of the REIV, told Tom Elliott it’s part of a range of measures targeting property owners.
“The property industry has become the number one target of this state government,” Mr Simpson said.
“Since they’ve come to power, they’ve introduced 14 new property taxes or tax increases.”
Tom said people should be able to do whatever they want with the properties they own.
