Researcher explains how pokies can be tampered with

A Monash University researcher has outlined how pokies can be manipulated.

Crown Casino is in hot water after explosive allegations of pokies tampering by Independent MP Andrew Wilkie in parliament today.

The allegations claim the machines had certain buttons disabled to increase expenditure, and that some buttons were shaved down to enable machines to operate more times per hour than they are allowed to.

And researcher Charles Livingstone has told Tom Elliott it is possible to tamper with the machines.

“It’s not that hard to do,” Dr Livingstone said.
