Road rage victim left rattled after being chased off the road in Melbourne’s outer east

Tom Elliott

The victim of a suspected road rage incident in Upwey says a police station she went to seek help from was unmanned.

Caroline was driving with her family and a friend when she was chased by a man with a pole on Saturday night.

“All of a sudden a dark ute tried to take us of the road it was a two lane highway,” she told Neil Mitchell.

“He came from the side of us and if I didn’t break or swerve I would have hit him.”

She said it continued up the road, and eventually the driver got out of his car and got a weapon out of his ute before chasing them up the road.

They drove to a nearby police station, but no one answered.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t get help at this stage so we sat in the car for a little while and then headed home,” she said.
