School leavers told to go bush

School leavers and university students will be urged to ‘have a gap year at home’ to address the farm worker shortage.

10 recommendations have been made to the Federal Government following an inquiry into the Working Holiday Maker Program.

At the start of the year there was 150,000 backpackers in Australia, now there is only 70,000.
