Spring delivering opportunities for dairy

Dairy Australia’s latest Situation and Outlook Report is pointing to a positive spring with record farmgate milk prices, favourable operating conditions and increased profitability.

While smaller global milk pool is expected because of droughts, high input costs and farmexits in the northern hemisphere, there could be opportunities for Australian exporters.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Industry Insights and Analysis Manager John Droppert who says farmers are still managing a number of challenges but insists there is cause for optimism.
