Study: bushfires pose bigger threat than logging to iconic possum’s habitat
The Victorian Government’s decision to end harvesting of native forests has been brought under question, after research found bushfires pose a bigger threat to the Leadbeater’s Possum than logging.
The University of Melbourne study found if forestry operations continued for 250 years, the habitat would be reduced by only up to 2.3 percent.
