Sugarcane farmers look for sustainability

There are fresh calls for Queensland’s sugarcane farmers to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices.

A new survey shows 70 percent of participants believe sugarcane should be farmed sustainably.

And, more than 80 percent recognise sugarcane as being good for the state.

Rural reporter Maham Kashany caught up with Smartcane B-P Manager Kate Gowdie to learn more about Queenslanders attitudes towards sustainable farming practices in the sugar industry.
