Surveillance Tech Helping Farmers Get Ahead of Pests
Crop farmers are using surveillance technology to catch pests on their properties, in a trial it’s hoped will speed up the identification of dangerous bugs.
The program kicked off in 20-17, with Horsham SmartFarm in Victoria the latest to install the i-MAP-PESTS sentinel program.
I caught up with Agriculture Victoria senior research scientist Dr Piotr Tribecki to find out how it works.
