The Treasurer concedes the dual citizenship saga is “distracting”.

Liberal MP Stephen Parry quit the parliament on Wednesday after confirming he is a UK citizen, the sixth MP to be ousted in the scandal.

Speaking in the 3AW studio, Treasurer Scott Morrison said it’s an unfortunate situation.

“It’s distracting in the public attention,” Mr Morrison told Tom Elliott.

“There are some things you can’t control.”
