Victoria leading the way in sheep traceability

Electronic tagging is gaining pace in Australia – but a sale yard in Victoria’s southwest is leading the charge.

A record 59,487 sheep tags were scanned at the Hamilton Livestock Exchange last December…

The process helps ensure sheep and goats can be quickly tracked in the event of a disease outbreak or food safety issue.
