‘We can’t pussyfoot … we have to admit the cause’

When Tom Elliott called a Londoner friend in the wake of yesterday’s terror attacks, she said something that concerned him.

The sad thing is we’re getting used to terror attacks in London. It’s become part of the daily fabric.

“I don’t want to become densensitised to terror,” Tom said today.

“I think we’ve got to take it on.

“We’ve got to admit what the cause is, and the cause is militant Islam.

“We can’t pussyfoot around what the issue is.

“How do we deal with it? Well, that’s a different kettle of fish.

“Going through my mind is ideas like banning all Islamic immigration into Australia.

“At the same time, we need the help of the Islamic community, because they are the ones who will spot radicalisation before the rest of us will.”
