Luke Grant speaks to Gadigal elder, Uncle Allen Madden, about the signifcance of ‘welcome to country’.
Allen recently delivered the welcome to country at the Tszyu v Takeshi fight, and has done so for many major political and sporting events over many decades.
Allen was born in Redfern in 1949, and has 10 children.
He’s told Luke about his life, and explained what welcome means to him.
