And a study has revealed when the Nullarbor transitioned from being a luscious forrest to a dry desert.

Researchers at Curtin University have used ancient rocks to determine, it was around 2.5 million years ago.

Rural reporter Jessica Clancy caught up with Researcher Max Droellner, who says the dry plains could be slowly turning back in to a forest:
