Latrobe University professor Lawrie Zion believes the weather is so interesting because it’s something that unites people.

Prof Zion, author of The Weather Obsession, told Tom Elliott it’s a reminder that nature still plays a key role in our lives.

“The technology behind weather forecasting is a great success story of science,” he said.

Tom said he doesn’t care about weather reporting at all.
