Win for citrus growers against border ban

Seasonal workers are heading back into citrus orchards, after the New South Wales Government was forced to revisit its border restrictions.

New South Wales Health 9 days ago banned seasonal workers from crossing the border from Victoria, costing the industry more than a million dollars a day.

The restrictions were put into place without any consultation with farming communities.

The revised restrictions will see seasonal workers able to access a permit to cross the border, providing they haven’t left the border zone in the past 14 days.

They’ll also be required to produce evidence of their place of residence and work.
