It’s taken some time for audiences to recognise Poh Ling Yeow for her first love, baking.

She rose to fame on Masterchef, and now she’s a staple on Australian televisions and in the foodie scene.

But Poh said the passion started with her mum in the kitchen, and her new recipe book is the one she’s been desperate to put together.

“Mum has always been a really enthusiastic baker, and then when we came to Australia it seemed that was something she loved to do,” she told Denis Walter.

Since her days on Masterchef, the food scene in Adelaide has come a long way.

“I think we are kind of coming to our own in Adelaide,” she said.

“People are starting to recognise us for the things we do do well.”

‘Poh Bakes 100 Greats’ is out now.
