Police appeal for witnesses after tram driver assault in North Coburg
Police are appealing for witnesses after an irate passenger assaulted a tram driver in Coburg North.
A man boarded a city bound tram on Sydney Road about 7.30am on Thursday 9 March, before swearing at passengers and holding up the tram smoking a cigarette.
Police say the man then slid open the side window to the driver’s carriage and yelled at the driver.
He then hit the glass window with an iron object, causing it to shatter all over the driver.
The tram driver was treated for minor injuries.
