Detectives are appealing for public assistance after a woman was sexually assaulted at the Groovin’ the Moo festival in Bendigo on Saturday April 30.

Police have been told the 20-year-old woman was dancing alone at the music festival around 4pm.

A man grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her before a passer-by saw her in distress and came to help.

The man got away, he is believed to be aged 18-years-old, 183cm tall, slim build with blue eyes, light coloured hair and a pale complexion.

At the time of the assault he was wearing a white shirt with ‘Premiers’ written on the back and had an injured arm in a red sling.

A photo has been released of a man they believe can assist them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
