Police have arrested a 14-year-old known youth gang member from Frankston South over the terrifying alleged abduction of a schoolboy in Glen Huntly.

The 14-year-old victim was confronted by unknown offenders while he walking home from school on Monday afternoon, and was forced into the vehicle and robbed before being ejected out of the moving car, and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Inspector Scott Dwyer gave an update on the status of the 14-year-old victim and details of the arrest made on Thursday afternoon.

The 14-year-old who has been charged has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Investigators continue to search for others believed to have been involved in the incident.
