Police have called on a member of the public who provided details surrounding the moments of Jimmy Gargasoulas before the Bourke Street rampage to come forward.

Gargasoulas is facing five counts of murder following the attack on January 20 that left six people dead and more than 30 others injured.

Police expect to lay further charges pending the results of the extensive investigation.

Assistant Commissioner Steven Fontana said police had taken 429 witness statements and would speak with a further 483 people over the coming days.

But they need the person who took screen grabs of Gargasoulas’ Facebook page to come forward.

‘We think it’s relevant to the case,’ he said.
