Police call on people to act responsibly at St Kilda festival

This weekend’s St Kilda festival will be an alcohol-free event, but it’s been revealed the council wants to allow people to have their pills tested.

Police have called on the more than 400,000 people expected to head to the festival over the weekend to keep their personal safety in the forefront of their minds.

Earlier this month, Port Phillip Council voted in favour of holding pill testing trials at its festivals.

But it still needs an unlikely tick of approval by the state government before that can go ahead.

The council stressed it did not condone drug use.
