A pallet of cocaine worth an estimated $30 million has been “found” at Elwood.

Michelle told Tom Elliott she was sitting in a cafe on Ormond Road on Wednesday when police came in asked if anybody had seen anything suspicious, or had any information.

“They said they had the pallet, but didn’t know who the owner was,” she explained.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have confirmed they were seeking the public’s assistance in relation to an ongoing investigation into the alleged importation of 291 kilograms of liquid cocaine earlier this year.

It came in a shipment of wine bottles.

Two men were arrested at Tallarook in connection with that investigation on July 6 but were released, pending further enquiries.

Police believe the men had collected a pallet wrapped in black plastic from the Elwood area that same day.

Anybody who saw a white coloured Toyota Hilux in the Elwood area on July 6 are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or visit the Crime Stoppers website.
