Police carry out terror raids in Melbourne, teen also arrested in Sydney
Counter terrorism police are yet to rule out further charges after raiding property in Melbourne’s west following the arrest of five men in far north Queensland last week.
The officers spent much of Tuesday searching the shed of a home at West Footscray.
The raids are linked to the arrest of the so-called ‘tinnie terrorists’, who were stopped from leaving the country towing a seven-metre boat in Cairns.
Meanwhile, in Sydney, a teenager has been charged with trying to source a firearm for a terrorist attack.
The Macquarie Park teen, 18, had allegedly been planning an attack after being stopped at the airport in February while trying to travel to Syria.
Police said an attack was probably imminent.
