Police discover gun, cash and break and enter tools during car intercept at Officer
Police have made a disturbing discovery after intercepting a car at Officer.
Police intercepted a silver station wagon on Mary Street about 2am on Monday morning and asked the three men on board were asked step out of the car.
A passenger in the vehicle has then attempted to walk away carrying a backpack.
He was quickly challenged by police, who found a gun, a large amount of cash and tools allegedly used as break in implements.
A further search of the car revelled more alleged break in implements and another amount of cash.
A 48-year-old Deer Park man and a 44-year-old Glen Iris man were arrested at the scene.
The Glen Iris man was interviewed by police and is expected to be charged on summons with possess proceeds of crime and possess house breaking implements.
The Deer Park man remains in custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The third man was released without charge.
