Bendigo police are investigating a stalker who followed two young girls off public transport to the house where they were hiding.

It’s one of two recent alleged stalking incidents in the area within a matter of days.

In the first incident on April 24, two girls, aged 10 and 14, got off the Strathdale to Strathfieldsaye bus when they heard the man, who had also been on the bus, call out to them.

Frightened, they fled to a nearby friend’s home.

Moments later the man knocked on the door, at which point the friend’s mother answered.

The man claimed to be a salesman, but was promptly told to leave.

Sixteen days later another girl, also 14, told police a man had also followed her off the bus in Strathfieldsaye.

Like the first incident, he also called out to the girl.

He did not follow her after she ignored him.

The man is described as of Caucasian appearance, aged 30-40 with a slim build and sandy hair.

Both incidents happened about 4pm.
