Police hunt for man after South Yarra stabbing

Police are on the hunt for a man after a stabbing at South Yarra.
It’s believed a man entered his William Street garage to move his car on Friday morning when he disturbed an unknown intruder.
Police believe the man stabbed the victim a number of times before fleeing the scene.
The victim, 56, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, 188cm tall with long brown scraggly shoulder length hair and was wearing dark jeans.
Police are currently conducting a line search for a weapon.
The Sandringham train line has been suspended as a result of the search.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen anything suspicious in the area.
