Police hunt for man after two frightening attacks on teen girls on the same bus line
Police have released an image of a man after two frightening attacks on two 17-year-old girls last week in the same area.
One of the victims, aged 17, got off the 893 bus at Waverley Park Drive in Cranbourne North where a man was waiting at the bus stop.
He followed her, before grabbing and kissing her.
The teenager fought back and the man verbally abused her before producing a knife and punching her.
She suffered minor injuries.
The next day, another 17-year-old girl was waiting with friends at a bus stop on Princes Highway near Harmer Road in Hallam.
A man walked up to the bus stop and began shouting abuse at the teen and her friends.
He then grabbed her and pushed her into a bus stop before fleeing.
Detectives believe the same man was involved in both incidents. The incidents both occurred on the same bus line.
He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 40 to 50 years old and unshaven.
The man wore black pants, a grey top and black cap during the second incident and was carrying a black backpack.
Police are also hoping to speak to a woman with a pram, who came to the aid of the first victim at the time.
