Police want to speak with a woman who helped an elderly man after he was pushed to the ground in the CBD.

The 84-year-old man suffered cuts and bruising after the altercation at Centre Place on Friday, February 3.

The man was walking down a small flight of stairs when another man accused him of hitting him with his walking stick.

He then pushed the 84-year-old, who fell to the ground.

A female witness took a photo of the alleged offender before helping the elderly man walk from the scene.
