Police hunt man believed to be armed with knife in Ringwood
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Ringwood this morning.
Peter called 3AW Breakfast just before 7.30am to say he was returning home and found his street had been taped off by police.
Police say a man was walking hear the intersection of Vine and Maidstone Streets when he was approached by a male.
An altercation took place, with the man trying to take the victim’s backpack, but after a struggle he fled the scene empty-handed.
The victim sustained minor scratches to his hand during the incident.
The offender is perceived as African in appearance and was wearing a blue jacket, dark pants and a baseball cap.
It is understood he dropped a knife while fleeing the scene.
