A man hunt is underway to find a burglar who took a nap while inside his victim’s Donvale home.

When the owners returned home last Thursday morning they found their bed wasn’t where it should’ve been.

It had been dragged into the living room where a sleeping man had made himself very comfortable.

He woke up and produced a knife before running away on foot.

He didn’t steal anything.

Investigators are looking for the male, he is described as in his early 20s, of Middle Eastern appearance, unshaven and has a tattoo on his chest.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Marcus Tupper tells 3AW Breakfast a similar incident happened to him recently.

‘I woke up at 4 O’Clock in the morning to find a man on our couch!’

Marcus says the man was very apologetic and clearly had the wrong house, or so he thought.

He dropped the man back to the main road where he met his girlfriend.

‘I thought it was just an innocent mistake,’ he tells 3AW Breakfast.

Later that morning Marcus heard his wife scream and found the same man had broken in again through a back window, ‘He had fallen asleep on my kid’s little couch.’

‘I lost my cool, grabbed him and took him outside. We got into a bit of an exchange.’

Marcus tells Justin and Kate, ‘He pulled out a knife, threatened me with it and ran off.’

Police are still investigating.
