Police are fed up with a constant wave of crime across Melbourne, according to police union boss Wayne Gatt.

3AW host Jacqui Felgate revealed on Tuesday details of several aggravated burglaries in bayside, as well as an alleged assault on an elderly man in Bairnsdale.

“Our members are increasingly frustrated about this sort of crime,” Mr Gatt told 3AW Drive.

“They’re throwing so much at it, they’re being asked to combat this offending specifically as part of operations and seemingly it’s not necessarily stopping this offending from taking place.
