Police investigate apparent shooting into house at Altona

Police are investigating an apparent new year’s eve shooting into an Altona home.

Aaron told Justin and Kate about his concerning discovery on 3AW Breakfast this morning.

‘Yeah, so, got up this morning and found a bullet on the rug and a hole in the roof.’

He said he heard a loud bang about 12.05am but didn’t notice the damage until this morning.

The CFA and police were left shaking their head at the behaviour of some revellers around the state.

Despite a total fire ban, it’s believed illegal fireworks started more than 40 fires, further straining already stretched firefighter numbers.

Among the problem spots was Apollo Bay on surf coast, where even legal fireworks were deemed to dangerous.
