Police investigate head-on collision on Tullamarine Freeway overnight

An investigation is underway following a head-on collision on the Tullamarine Freeway overnight.

Police say a white BMW was being driven on the wrong side of the freeway near the Flemington Road exit, colliding head on with a black SUV shortly after midnight.

Both the BMW driver, a 25-year-old Keilor East man, and the driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old Craigieburn man, were taken to hospital.

The extent of their injuries is not known at this stage.
