Police are investigating a suspicious fire in the suburb of Norlane in North Geelong overnight.

Police were told five unknown teenagers were seen fleeing the area shortly before the fire broke out on Spruhan Avenue.

An arson chemist will attend the scene this morning to determine the exact cause of the fire.
