Police investigate two bayside blazes

Police are investigating after a car was torched at Cheltenham and a kindergarten set on fire at Bentleigh.

Police say the owner of the car was woken by a noise outside her Cheltenham home about 1.30am on Monday.

The woman and her two children were forced to flee the home.

Fire fighters managed to contain the blaze to the car and garage.

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a suspicious fire at a kindergarten at Bentleigh.

A group of teenagers was seen fleeing the area on Higgins Road, one of them on a bike, at about 4.30 on Sunday afternoon.
