Police investigating after a car was found in the Maribyrnong river

A car has been found half-underwater in the Maribyrnong river.

The VW station wagon was found near Afton street early this morning. 

The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown.

Listener Sue called into to tell 3AW Breakfast – ‘Initially we were concerned someone may have been trapped’.

Paramedics were not required and police are investigating.
