Police investigating fatal Thomastown shooting

Homicide squad detectives are investigating after a man was shot in Thomastown on Sunday night.

Emergency crews performed CPR on the man, but he died at the scene.

Nine’s Today reporter Christine Ahern told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft she had spoken to a friend of the victim.

“He described him as a ‘good soul’, someone who was not in trouble with the police,” she said.
