Police investigating train assault at Canterbury

Images have been released following an assault on a train on the Belgrave Lilydale line.

Police say a man got on the train at Camberwell shortly before 10pm on June 29 and became abusive.

He slapped a man on the face and pushed his head into the carriage window.

Just as he appeared to be getting off the train at Canterbury Station, he ran back and punched the victim leaving him bruised and concussed.
