‘Police just ran in with guns drawn’: Incident at Melbourne Central

Police have stormed Melbourne Central Shopping Centre this morning following reports of a man with a knife.

Transit Police went in via Lonsdale Street about 8.30am and man was subsequently searched.

A passer-by told 3AW “police just ran in with guns drawn”.

A 40-year-old Boronia man was spoken to by police and subsequently searched.

He was issued with an infringement notice for possessing a controlled weapon.
