Police launch fresh appeal into historic 1988 St Kilda abduction and rape

Victoria Police detectives from the sexual crimes squad have issued a fresh appeal for anyone with information about a historical abduction and rape from 1988 to come forward.

Media adviser Katherine Murphy says a nineteen-year-old woman was walking along Carlisle Street in St Kilda when she was abducted by two men.

“In 2021, a positive DNA match was returned, and a man has been charged, but we still seek the identity of the second man involved,” she told Ross and Russ.
