Police make alarming discoveries during arrest of two men

Loaded guns, drugs and ammunition has been found while two men were arrested at Hillside.

Police were called to Queensberry Court on the back of reports two men were “loitering” in the area, not long after midnight.

The pair tried to walk away from police when they arrived but were quickly arrested.

They were in an allegedly stolen 2014 red Mazda sedan.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun, loaded sawn-off shotgun, ammunition and a substantial quantity of what is believed to be cannabis.

The pair, a 36-year-old from Sunshine and a 33-year-old from Hillside, are currently assisting detectives.
