Police Minister Lisa Neville says she wants to take action against those who cover their faces and carry out violence at protests.

But she told Neil Mitchell the law needs to get the balance right.

‘People at the dairy protest last week had people dressing up, so this is about making sure that where we’re targeting is the people that are inciting violence,’ Ms Neville said.

Ms Neville will meet with the chief commissioner to discuss the issue today.
