Three people have been arrested after police moved to evict squatters living in homes vacated for the scrapped East-West Link project.

Victoria Police confirmed they had attended a property in Bendigo Street, Collingwood, to execute several warrants.

Two women were arrested in relation to a quantity of what’s believed to be stolen property, while a man was taken into custody in relation to an outstanding warrant.

Victoria Police said it would continue to work with stakeholders including the Salvation Army to link those experiencing homelessness with support services and accommodation.
