‘Police need to stand with us’: The vigilante crime group who took matters into their own hands

Tom Elliott

A vigilante crime group has taken a stand against youth crime in the town of Rockhampton in Queensland.

Gym owner and former political candidate, Torin O’Brien, is the leader of the group and detailed a distressing personal experience which affected his family last week, which led to an anti-crime protest which outnumbered police.

He’s called for the police to stand with the group and call out youth crime, but Neil Mitchell believes it has the potential to spark violence.
