Police negotiate with occupants of house at St Albans following reports of gunfire
A siege at a suspected St Albans drug house has ended.
The house on Levenia Street was cordoned off by police shortly after 6am on Monday after shots were fired while they tried to execute a drug warrant.
That led to a four-hour siege while police tried to negotiate with those inside.
Police finally gained access to the property after 10am but nobody was in the house when they did.
A man who was the subject of a police search has handed himself into police.
The property was one of ten raided as part of investigations into an international drug trafficking syndicate.
Eight people have been arrested and are currently in custody.
