Victoria Police has confirmed it’s investigating assault allegations following the ugly incident involving Ali Fahour.

And one leading legal expert says he isn’t surprised.

Police said they’d taken a statement from the victim, a 33-year-old Whittlesea man.

Fahour was suspended for 14 games for his punch on Dale Saddington.

He’s since been banned for life, due to AFL Victoria’s de-registration rules.

Fahour also quit his AFL job.

Speaking on 3AW, leading QC David Galbally explained what could now happen from here.

“I’m not surprised the police are looking at it,” he said.
