Police officer dragged by car in disturbing incident

A police officer has been dragged more than 70 metres after pulling over a car in Melbourne’s south-east.

The incident happened at Eumemmerring on Tuesday afternoon.

The male driver took off when an officer went to speak to him on the Princes Highway.

The officer suffered lower body injuries and is being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A man has since been arrested.
