Police officer shot dead on Champs Elysee
The French Interior Ministry says its too early to identify a motive for a fatal shooting in Paris.
Two police officers were shot, and at least one was killed.
Authorities described it as a probable terrorist act but there are also reports it was an attempted armed robbery.
There are also reports of a second shooting nearby.
France 24 journalist Stephen Carroll, on the ground in Paris, told 3AW Breakfast there’s not yet a clear motive.
‘We do know the anti-terrorist police have got involved,’ he said.
‘The area is pretty much in lockdown, but for now it looks like the incident has ended.’
