Police on the hunt for ‘several’ suspects involved in South Yarra gangland shooting

Underworld figure Mohammed Keshtiar, known as “Afghan Ali”, was shot dead in a gun ambush on Chapel Street last Friday night, sparking calls for any associates of the deceased or anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward.

Head of the Homicide Squad at Victoria Police, Dean Thomas, claims there is “no doubt” the people involved in the shooting have spoken to others about it.

“We are looking for several at a minimum,” Mr Thomas told Neil Mitchell.
